Last month at D23 Expo 2022 it was announced that “Disney 100 Years of Wonder” will be the largest cross-company global celebration in the century long history of The Walt Disney Company!  Disneyland Resort will officially begin the festivities on January 27, 2023! Of course in true Disney fashion there will be special limited edition offerings and experiences throughout the year long celebration!

The Happiest Place on Earth will receive a platinum infused makeover with decor throughout the resort, dazzling new looks for Mickey, Minnie and friends, special edition merchandise and of course food and drink offerings! The original Sleeping Beauty Castle is going to be dressed for the occasion with platinum banners, bunting and a little shimmering pixie dust from The Good Fairies, two water fountains on either side of the moat and a glittering wishing star above the tower.

Guests will also get to experience TWO all-new nighttime spectaculars!  “World of Color - One” at Disney California Adventure park celebrates the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney.  Showing how a single action can grow into a wave of change, it will bring many of your favorite characters to life in brand new ways.  At Disneyland Park, “Wondrous Journeys” will light up Main Street USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of “its a small world” and Rivers of America with incredible projection effects. On select nights the show gets even bigger as fireworks light up the sky above the castle!

Mickey’s Toontown is scheduled to reopen after many months of refurbishment in spring 2023 but one attraction will open early!  Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open on January 27 to kick off the Disney 100 celebration! Guests will also enjoy the return of the “Magic Happens” parade just in time for spring!  This parade showcases many of your favorite characters and showcases the incredible moments of magic at the heart of so many beloved Disney stories.  Additional news on the celebration will be shared soon so stay tuned!

Beginning on October 11, Roaring Fork is debuting some mouthwatering new options as well!  Guests can indulge in new breakfast options including the Meat and Potatoes Quiche, the Vegetable Lover’s Quiche, the extra large Warm Grizzly Bear Claw and more!  Lunch and dinner also brings new dishes to the table including the Country Style Baked Meatloaf and the Barbecued Brisket and Burnt Ends!

A new baby springbok was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!  The calf was born near the end of September and was transported to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park last week to spend some time with animal care cast members to ensure that she was fed and cared for with the utmost attention!  Springbok’s are a species of antelope that can be found in the central and western parts of southern Africa.
