Disney News Round Up - October 31, 2022

A lot has happened in the world of Disney this week!  We’ve gathered up some highlights from the amazing teams at Disney Parks Blog, Disneyland Paris News and WDW News Today - three amazing resources to keep you up to date on all things Disney!

Thanksgiving is around the corner and Disney is celebrating with unique and delicious eats throughout the Walt Disney World resort from November 1 - 24!  There will be classics like Thanksgiving dinner available at various resorts on Thanksgiving Day along with some more unique dishes available throughout the resort hotels and theme parks on select dates throughout the month!

Throughout the month of November up until Thanksgiving, guests can enjoy treats like the Gobble Wobble Bundt Cake at the All Star Resorts; a Maple Pot de Creme at Art of Animation and Pop Century; a Pumpkin Pie Shake at the Beach Club Resort; the Mini Pumpkin filled with pumpkin mousse at the Old Key West Resort and so much more!

On November 24 guests can enjoy a traditional turkey dinner at the following resorts: All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Sports Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Village Resort, Pop Century Resort, Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Saratoga Springs Resort, and Wilderness Lodge.

Additional resorts will also offer their own take on Thanksgiving plates including Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, Boardwalk Resort, Coronado Springs, Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Grand Floridian Resort, Old Key West Resort, Riviera Resort and Yacht Club Resort.

Select restaurants throughout the theme parks will also have various holiday plates available including Biergarten Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, The Garden Grill Restaurant and more in Epcot; The Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine and 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios; Restaurantosaurus, Tusker House and more in Disney’s Animal Kingdom; as well as Planet Hollywood, Homecomin’, Wine Bar George and more in Disney Springs!

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is returning January 13 - February 20, 2023!  This festival is a celebration of visual, performing and culinary arts!  In addition to expressing their creativity by learning to draw a Disney character at Animation Academy or participate in Expression Section: A Paint by Number Mural guests can also catch entertainment nightly at the Disney on Broadway Concert Series!  And of course there will be plenty of delicious treats and beverages for guests to enjoy! More details will be released in early 2023!

Disney’s Blizzard Beach waterpark will be reopening on November 13!  Legend has it that this former ski resort melted into soothing warm water perfect for splashing, floating and swimming the day away!  Guests can enjoy favorite attractions like Mount Gushmore - one of the tallest, fastest free falling body slides in the world and Toboggan Racers - an exciting 8 lane waterslide along with new touches in Tike’s Peak from the beloved film, “Frozen”! Your little ones will love splashing around with Olaf and his Snowgie pals or experiencing Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle!

Tokyo Disney announced the names of the new immersive worlds guests can experience at the resorts new port, Fantasy Springs, in Tokyo DisneySea!  Frozen Kingdom, inspired by the film “Frozen”; Rapunzel’s Forest - brought to life from the film “Tangled”; and Peter Pan’s Never Land - inspired by, you guessed it, “Peter Pan”!  This new area will be opening in spring 2024 along with a new hotel - Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel!  This is the sixth hotel at the resort and will feature floral motifs throughout with nods to the Disney Princesses.

Disneyland Paris shared the first details surrounding the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebrations at the Disneyland Paris Resort!  Beginning with an exclusive moment during the New Years Eve party at the resort, guests of the Disneyland Paris Resort will be in for a year full of surprises! We can’t wait to find out more!

Shanghai Disney Resort is closed again indefinitely due to Covid-19.  The resort issued a statement alerting guests that in order to comply with pandemic prevention and control as determined by the nations zero-covid policy Shanghai Disney Resort including Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park will be closed Monday October 31, 2022 with no confirmed reopening date as of yet.  Refund and/or exchanges will be honored by the resort. Additionally, in accordance with China’s zero-Covid policies, Universal Studios Beijing has also closed without a reopening date.
